Waiting on Wednesday: Glimmer

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted at Breaking the Spine all about the pre-publication books we can't wait to get our hands on. I'm really excited this week for...
Glimmer

What if you forgot your identity and had to rely on other people to tell you who you were?
And what if to discover your true self, you first had to unravel a mystery so big and terrifying you were not sure you’d survive solving it?

When Marshall and Elyse wake up in each other’s arms with zero memory of how they got there or who they are, it’s the start of a long journey through their separate pasts and shared future.

Terrified by their amnesia, the two make a pact to work together to find the answers that could jog their missing memories. As they piece together clues, they discover they’re in the idyllic mountain resort town of Summer Falls, where everyone seems mysteriously happy, but as Marshall and Elyse quickly learn, darkness lurks beneath the town’s perfect facade. Not only is the town haunted by sinister ghosts, but none of its living inhabitants retain bad memories of anything—not the death of Marshall’s mom, not the hidden shame in Elyse’s family, not even the day-to-day anguish of high school.

Lonely in this world of happy zombies, Marsh and Elyse fall into an intense relationship...but the secrets they uncover could be the death of this growing love—and the death of everyone, and everything, they love in Summer Falls.
Publication Date: April 17th 2012

Wow, that's a long wait! But this book looks SO good, I'm super excited to read it. I've loved reading about Zombie towns ever since Zombie Blondes (which is really good, if you haven't read it) and this one looks unique and interesting. Definitely worth waiting for.

That's what I'm waiting for... how about you? Leave a link!

Waiting on Wednesday: If I Die

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted at Breaking the Spine and it's basically about books you can't wait to read. These are books that haven't been published yet. I recently finished My Soul to Steal and I can't wait to see what happens next. The synopsis is just as promising as the cover too!

If I Die (Soul Screamers, #5)
No one wants to be this teacher’s pet . . .

Everyone else is talking about Eastlake High’s gorgeous new math teacher, Mr. Beck, but Kaylee Cavanaugh has bigger things on her mind. Kaylee’s a banshee—her scream is a portent of death.

But the next scream might hit too close to home. Kaylee’s borrowed lifeline has almost run out.

Yeah—it’s a shock to her, too. So to distract herself from her own problems, Kaylee is determined to defend her school against the latest supernatural threat. That hot new teacher is really an incubus, who feeds from the desire of unsuspecting students. The only girls immune to his lure are Kaylee and Sabine, her boyfriend’s delinquent ex-girlfriend. Now the unlikely allies have to get rid of Mr. Beck…before he discovers they aren’t quite human either.

But Kaylee’s running out of time, and those who love her will do anything to save her life.

Anything.

Soul Screamers: The last thing you hear before you die.

Release Date: September 20th

This is yet another awesome series from Harlequin (whom I've realized I love since I've read and enjoyed most of their series.

The Soul Screamers series is really amazing and if you haven't read it already, make sure to add these books high on your TBR.

Waiting on Wednesday

Okay, I'm kinda in a super excited mood. Right now. I have tons of books and reviews planned out (though I have to focus on actually reading and finishing  books to write them, which I'm working on). I joined the school varsity touch football team (I'm no athlete so this is an accomplishment), I've won a small prize after getting an honorable mention in a writing competition (!!!!) and I'm now a part of the amazing site New Books for New Bloggers. Basically, stuff's good for me and that's why I'm kinda gushy and excited in this post. :)

Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

This week I can't wait for...
Anna Dressed in Blood

Author: Kendare Blake
Release Date: August 30 2011
Synopsis (from Goodreads): Just your average boy-meets-girl, girl-kills-people story. . .

Cas Lowood has inherited an unusual vocation: He kills the dead.

So did his father before him, until his gruesome murder by a ghost he sought to kill. Now, armed with his father's mysterious and deadly athame, Cas travels the country with his kitchen-witch mother and their spirit-sniffing cat. Together they follow legends and local lore, trying to keep up with the murderous dead—keeping pesky things like the future and friends at bay.

When they arrive in a new town in search of a ghost the locals call Anna Dressed in Blood, Cas doesn't expect anything outside of the ordinary: move, hunt, kill. What he finds instead is a girl entangled in curses and rage, a ghost like he's never faced before. She still wears the dress she wore on the day of her brutal murder in 1958: once white, but now stained red and dripping blood. Since her death, Anna has killed any and every person who has dared to step into the deserted Victorian she used to call home.

And she, for whatever reason, spares his life.

How amazing does that sound? I LOVE the kick but heros! I have a big feeling I'll love this book- I mean, have you SEEN the cover? It sounds a bit like a Supernatural episode (which incidentally is returning soon!!!!) Sorry, I'm gushing, but I really can't wait to read this. So what are you waiting for? Leave a comment and a link please so I can visit you too! And brownie points for voting in the Hades vs. The Demon's Surrender poll for my cover war on the right!

Waiting on Wednesday x3

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.
I've been a fail doing WoW so I decided to pick three books this week.

Jessica Rules the Dark Side (Jessica, #2)
Author: Beth Fantaskey
Other books in the series: Jessica's Guide to Dating on the Dark Side
Release Date: January 9 2012
Synopsis: When Jessica Packwood found out she was a Romanian vampire princess, she had the shock of her teenage life. Turns out that was the easy part. Now, married to Prince Lucius Vladescu, she has to claim her throne and convince a vampire nation she’s fit to be their queen. But Jess can’t even order a decent meal from her castle’s Romanian staff, let alone deal with devious undead subjects who would love to see her fail.

And when Lucius is accused of murdering a vampire Elder and imprisoned without the blood he needs, Jessica finds herself alone, fighting for both their survivals.

Desperate to clear her husband’s name and win his release, Jess enlists the help of her best friend Mindy Stankowicz and Lucius’s mysterious Italian cousin, Raniero Lovatu. But both of them are keeping some dark secrets. Can Jess figure out who to trust – and how to rise to power – before she loses everything, including the vampire she loves?

Full of romance, mystery, and danger, the highly anticipated sequel to Jessica’s Guide to Dating on the Dark Side shows that sometimes a princess has to earn her “happily ever after” – with a \
sharpened stake in hand.

Doesn't that sound amazing? Jessica's guide was laugh-out-loud funny and Lucius is so sexy so I'm super excited to read this. But I can't believe we have to wait till 2012 to get it!

Born at Midnight (A Shadow Falls Novel)

Author: C.C. Hunter
Release Date: March 29 2011
Synopsis: Don’t miss this spectacular new series that will steal your heart and haunt your dreams,  Welcome to Shadow Falls camp, nestled deep in the woods of a town called Fallen…

One night Kylie Galen finds herself at the wrong party, with the wrong people, and it changes her life forever.  Her mother ships her off to Shadow Falls—a camp for troubled teens, and within hours of arriving, it becomes painfully clear that her fellow campers aren’t just “troubled.”  Here at Shadow Falls, vampires, werewolves, shapshifters, witches and fairies train side by side—learning to harness their powers, control their magic and live in the normal world.

Kylie’s never felt normal, but surely she doesn’t belong here with a bunch of paranormal freaks either.  Or does she?  They insist Kylie is one of them, and that she was brought here for a reason.  As if life wasn’t complicated enough, enter Derek and Lucas.  Derek’s a half-fae who’s determined to be her boyfriend, and Lucas is a smokin’ hot werewolf with whom Kylie shares a secret past.  Both Derek and Lucas couldn’t be more different, but they both have a powerful hold on her heart.

Even though Kylie feels deeply uncertain about everything, one thing is becoming painfully clear—Shadow Falls is exactly where she belongs…

Wow, what a gorgeous cover! I've been hearing many good things about this book in the blogosphere so I'm
super excited to read it. Plus, with a half-fae, a werewolf, camp, it's got to be good.

Hades (Halo, #2)
Author: Alexandra Adornetto
Release Date: April 30 2011
Other books in the series :Halo

Whoa, another fabulous cover! Halo was sweet, fun and addicting so I expect nothing less from Hades. Except a darker ride, since there is more black on the cover with fire like hell and Hades rules hell... anyway, I can't wait.

Those are just a few of my picks. What are you waiting for?

Waiting on Wednesday: City of Fallen Angels

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine.

Title: City of Fallen Angels (Pre-order now!)
Author: Cassandra Clare
Pages: 432
Release Date: April 5 2011

City of Fallen Angels (Mortal Instruments)
Synopsis: Love, blood, betrayal and revenge — the stakes are higher than ever in City of Fallen Angels. Simon Lewis is having some trouble adjusting to his new life as a vampire, especially now that he hardly sees his best friend Clary, who is caught up in training to be a Shadowhunter—and spending time with her new boyfriend Jace. Not to mention that Simon doesn’t quite know how to handle the pressure of not-quite-dating two girls at once. What’s a daylight-loving vampire to do? Simon decides he needs a break and heads out of the city—only to discover that sinister events are following him. Realizing that the war they thought they’d won might not yet be over, Simon has to call on his Shadowhunter friends to save the day — if they can put their own splintering relationships on hold long enough to rise to the challenge.

I absolutely love reading these books. They are addicting and just fun to read so I'm really looking forward to this book. What book are you waiting for?

Waiting on Wedneday: Original Sin

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme that spotlights up coming releases. It's hosted at Breaking the Spine.

I can't wait for...

Author: Lisa Desrochers
Release date: July 5 2011
Synopsis: (from Goodreads)
When secrets and old histories come to light, Frannie realizes that nobody is who she thought they were. Hell won’t give up and Heaven won’t give in. Some are willing to hurt anyone close to Frannie in order to get what they want. It will take everything she has and then some to stay out of Hell's grasp.

And not everyone will get out of it alive.

First of all, I'm loving this cover. It's gorgeous and hot. I'm so excited for this book since I loved Personal Demons so much. Frannie is such a strong heroine, and both Luc and Gabe are so hot. Plus I laughed a lot when reading Personal Demons and I'm sure to do the same with Original Sin. I have high expectations of this book, and I can't wait to get my hands on it.
