Cover Wars 2012 Wrap Up

Maybe I'm late to the party. Scratch that, I'm definitely late. I had this brilliant idea a while back to do a complete wrap up of Cover Wars, one of my most popular features. You guys voted and it was insane which covers dominated so consistently.

As you can see from this nice little chart that took absolutely no time at all to make, three covers stand out. They're all tied for first.

The Elite (The Selection, #2)FlutterWhat's Left of Me (The Hybrid Chronicles, #1)

Any of these covers particularly stand out for you?

Cover Wars: The Elite vs Shadow of the Mark

Cover Wars is when I post two covers, and you basically get a week to vote for your favourite. The winner continues on to next week, and it's kind of cool seeing which covers work and which don't. In the comments section we can discuss what we like about what cover, and it's basically some fun and friendly competition.

Last week's battle resulted in a comfortable win for The Elite, a cover that's turning out to be a force. This week The Elite face offs against Shadow of the Mark by Leigh Fallon. Both girls are in dresses, both covers are moody, and both covers have this simplicity to them that I love.

The Elite (The Selection, #2)Shadow Of The Mark (Carrier, #2)

I love pretty dresses and these dresses are both gorgeous. I like that both covers feature dresses that flow down and that those dresses are the focal point of the cover. Beyond that, I think any of these covers could win. It's up to you though.

Here's what you do: vote. I'll have the poll up all week, so you can support the cover you love.

Cover Wars: The Elite vs Goddess

It's been a while, but there's finally a new Cover Wars! Thanks to everyone for voting and I appreciate your passion. It was a very hard fight last time with the results flip flopping around.

Cover Wars is when I post two covers, and you basically get a week to vote for your favourite. The winner continues on to next week, and it's kind of cool seeing which covers work and which don't. In the comments section we can discuss what we like about what cover, and it's basically some fun and friendly competition.

The Elite by Kiera Cass is now up against a new cover... Goddess by Josephine Angelini. Both covers feature very pretty models with dresses and both covers could easily win this. Take a look:

The Elite (The Selection, #2)Goddess (Starcrossed, #3)

They both have very different tones to them. The Elite is a warm copper while Goddess is coolness personified. Both covers are eye catching and use lighting very well to achieve their desired effects. I can't wait to see who wins.

Now it's your part! All you need to do vote now in the poll below! You have all week.

Let the Cover Wars begin! Vote & leave a comment letting me know why you liked the cover or any other beautiful covers to be aware of!

Cover Wars: Flutter vs The Elite

Cover Wars is when I post two covers, and you basically get a week to vote for your favourite. The winner continues on to next week, and it's kind of cool seeing which covers work and which don't. In the comments section we can discuss what we like about what cover, and it's basically some fun and friendly competition.

Wow, you Flutter fans are unstoppable! Flutter has dominated the voting for all the last few Cover Wars. Will this continue against this week's Challenger, The Elite by Kiera Cass?

FlutterThe Elite (The Selection, #2)

I don't even have to explain how gorgeous both these covers are because it's obvious. They're both stunning with warm colours, though Flutter is more greenish brownish while The Elite has an almost metallic look. Both feature pretty girls though Flutter is a close up while The Elite shows off the full body. Either one of these covers deserves to win, but ultimately it's up to you to decide which is your favourite cover.

So let the Cover Wars begin! Remember, you have a week to vote and leave a comment letting me know your choice!

Edit: Please keep the comments courteous. The point of Cover Wars is to celebrate both covers- so when you vote for one cover there's no need to bash the other. Thanks!

Cover Wars: Flutter vs Boundless

I haven't been around as much as usual so Cover Wars was temporarily delayed last week. This week's it's back though, and stronger than ever!

Cover Wars is when I post two covers, and you basically get a week to vote for your favourite. The winner continues on to next week, and it's kind of cool seeing which covers work and which don't. In the comments section we can discuss what we like about what cover, and it's basically some fun and friendly competition.

Flutter continues to dominate the competition with a convincing win against With All My Soul. Can Flutter continue it's winning ways against Boundless by Cynthia Hand?

FlutterBoundless (Unearthly, #3)

Both of these covers focus on one colour- a warm amberish colour for Flutter, and a more purplish colour for Boundless. They both feature gorgeous font, and pretty female cover model. It's hard to pick which one you prefer, but I'm making you do it. Which cover do you consider more beautiful?

Pick your favourite and vote in the poll below! Remember you can vote all week, so make sure to share and leave a comment!

Cover Wars: Flutter vs. With All My Soul

Cover Wars is when I post two covers, and you basically get a week to vote for your favourite. The winner continues on to next week, and it's kind of cool seeing which covers work and which don't. In the comments section we can discuss what we like about what cover, and it's basically some fun and friendly competition.

Last week was the most successful Cover Wars yet. 127 votes. Flutter got the win and now it shall compete against Rachel Vincent's With All My Soul, #7 in the Soul Screamer's series.

FlutterWith All My Soul (Soul Screamers, #7)

Both covers are on the warm, brown scale and feature some very pretty titles. Flutter has more colour variety and its colours are more vivid, while With All My Soul's cover is more dramatic what with the high contrast and all. They're both stunning (I love YA cover designers!) but only one will win and move on. The battle is on.

Vote for your favourite cover in the poll below, which will be available all week long, and don't forget to comment to share your choice.

Cover Wars: Asunder vs Flutter

Cover Wars is when I post two covers, and you basically get a week to vote for your favourite. The winner continues on to next week, and it's kind of cool seeing which covers work and which don't. In the comments section we can discuss what we like about what cover, and it's basically some fun and friendly competition.

We have a new champion! Asunder managed to knock out Alice in Zombieland, but it was close. Very close. This week, Asunder will face another pretty cover. Asunder vs. Flutter is this week's Cover Wars.

Asunder (Newsoul, #2)Flutter

Battle of the cool colours, fonts, and faces. Asunder is obviously the more cooler cover with the colder, more neon colours while Flutter is warmer but also has its fair share of colours. I also adore the fonts on both covers. Seriously, I almost never comment on this but I had to this time because they're so pretty!

Now it's up to you to decide which cover is the best. Vote now and leave a comment sharing your vote!

Cover Wars: Alice in Zombieland vs Asunder

Cover Wars is when I post two covers, and you basically get a week to vote for your favourite. The winner continues on to next week, and it's kind of cool seeing which covers work and which don't. In the comments section we can discuss what we like about what cover, and it's basically some fun and friendly competition.

Alice in Zombieland is beating up the competition! With over 70% of the votes, Alice in Zombieland won against Fissure to go on against Asunder by Jodi Meadows.

Alice in Zombieland (White Rabbit Chronicles, #1)Asunder (Newsoul, #2)

These covers are opposites. One of them colourful in a very cool, neon-ish way, and the other is darker and more dramatic. It's really a matter of personal preference and you can not go wrong when it comes to these two covers. I absolutely adore the difference uses of colour and I'm very interested in seeing what you think.

Now that you've seen the covers, it's time to vote. Which is your favourite cover?

Cover Wars: Alice in Zombieland vs Fissure

Cover Wars is when I post two covers, and you basically get a week to vote for your favourite. The winner continues on to next week, and it's kind of cool seeing which covers work and which don't. In the comments section we can discuss what we like about what cover, and it's basically some fun and friendly competition.

Last week was probably the most talented Cover Wars yet, because I personally absolutely adored both covers. Alice in Zombieland made it on top and this week will face very tough competition in Fissure by Lily Collins.

Alice in Zombieland (White Rabbit Chronicles, #1)Fissure (Book of Ardenne, #1)

What I absolutely adore about both of these covers is that they seem to actually fit with the book. Alice in Zombieland has the cards and the blond girl with the blue dress, which obviously alludes to Alice in Wonderland. Fissure is about a very sad girl that escapes into the world of books to free herself from her life. Both these covers are great first impressions because they tell you a little something about the book you'll be reading.

Now, the question is which cover do you prefer most? Remember to vote now!

Cover Wars: Clockwork Princess vs Alice in Zombieland

Cover Wars is when I post two covers, and you basically get a week to vote for your favourite. The winner continues on to next week, and it's kind of cool seeing which covers work and which don't. In the comments section we can discuss what we like about what cover, and it's basically some fun and friendly competition.

Last week, we got a new winner. Clockwork Princess managed to edge out What's Left of Me but the poll was very close. Like, one vote separation close. This week, Clockwork Princess is going to try to defend it's win against another very original cover- Alice in Zombieland by Gena Showalter.

Clockwork Princess (The Infernal Devices, #3)Alice in Zombieland (White Rabbit Chronicles, #1)

This is probably one of my favourite Cover Wars because Iabsolutely adore both covers. They both fit the story inside and they're both very eye catching. They're similar in many ways two with one main girl being the focal point. You can't go wrong with either cover, and I for one am excited to see which cover ends up on top.

So, what are you waiting for? Vote now!

Cover Wars: What's Left of Me vs Clockwork Princess

Cover Wars is when I post two covers, and you basically get a week to vote for your favourite. The winner continues on to next week, and it's kind of cool seeing which covers work and which don't. In the comments section we can discuss what we like about what cover, and it's basically some fun and friendly competition.

What's Left of Me has been a very dominant and well loved cover. Seriously, it is blowing by the competition. This week will be it's hardest challenge. Why? Because What's Left of Me is against Cassandra Clare's Clockwork Princess.

What's Left of Me (The Hybrid Chronicles, #1) vs Clockwork Princess (The Infernal Devices, #3)

This is an overload of pretty. I absolutely love both covers. It's really now a battle between a modern looking cover versus a more classic design. Both are beautiful but only one will win and move on to next week.

Now it's up to you. Vote on the bottom or all throughout the week on the poll to the right for your favourite cover. And let the cover wars.. BEGIN!!

Cover Wars: What's Left of Me vs Sever

Cover Wars is when I post two covers, and you basically get a week to vote for your favourite. The winner continues on to next week, and it's kind of cool seeing which covers work and which don't. In the comments section we can discuss what we like about what cover, and it's basically some fun and friendly competition.

What's Left of Me is the new cover dominating the competition with a very strong win against Disenchanted. This week, What's Left of Me is up against Sever by Lauren DeStefano. Very tough competition. I'm very curious to see which cover ends up on top.

What's Left of Me (The Hybrid Chronicles, #1) vs Sever (The Chemical Garden, #3)

Beautiful right? Both covers are very creative and distinct. They both feature very interesting fonts that are huge parts of the cover. I think they're book very pretty, but in different ways. What's Left of Me is much cooler, a bit more neutral compared to Sever which is very bright. I can't wait to see what you think.

Vote on the poll to the right (or at the bottom of this post!) and leave a comment with your thoughts! Have a great week! :)

Last week, What's Left of Me managed a win against the almost unbeatable Want, propelling Kat Zhang's book to this week's competition. And the competition is tough. Disenchanted by Sherry Soule is hear to challenge. Which cover do you prefer?

Want by Stephanie Lawton is really on a roll here. It seems to be steamrolling the competition! This week, Want will compete against What's Left of Me by Kat Zhang, which features another pretty cover. I'm very curious to see which cover will win this battle. They're both very different and it's up to you guys to pick whichever one you prefer by voting on the sidebar to the right. Let the Cover Wars... begin!

Cover Wars: Want vs Days of Blood and Starlight

Cover Wars is when I post two covers, and you basically get a week to vote for your favourite. The winner continues on to next week, and it's kind of cool seeing which covers work and which don't. In the comments section we can discuss what we like about what cover, and it's basically some fun competition.

Sorry for the late post... school's finishing up and I've been trying to finish all my summative assignments on time while still reading a decent amount. Anyway, back to the actual post.

Last week's battle was crazy. Both covers had a lot of support, but Want got the most votes! Congratulations to Stephanie Lawton! Want now gets to go against another stunning cover, Days of Blood and Starligh by Laini Taylor. This will be a real battle since both covers are pretty in different ways. Want is more classic while Days of Blood & Starlight has a more contrasting, darker feel. It's up to you guys to vote for your favourite cover! They're both worthy of winning. And let the Cover Wars... begin!

In the comments section we can discuss what we like about what cover, and it's basically some fun competition.

Last week's winner was Oppression by a very wide margin, so congratulations to Jessica Therrien! Oppression now gets to face off against another stunning cover, Want by Stephanie Lawton. The covers both have one central colour (green vs. red) and I think they're both beautiful. It's not up to me though- it's up to you guys to pick and vote for your favourite covers on the right! So let the Cover Wars... begin!!!

The Return of COVER WARS

One of my favourite features on my blog is Cover Wars. It's also one of the hardest covers to keep up, but that doesn't really matter since I think it's one of the most fun too. Gushing about pretty covers is always cool. So since it's been a really long time, I have to say goodbye to the old covers and we're starting afresh!

Basically, for all of you who don't know, Cover Wars is when I post two covers, and you basically get a week to vote for your favourite. The winner continues on to next week, and it's kind of cool seeing which covers work and which don't. In the comments section we can discuss what we like about what cover, and it's basically some fun competition.

This week's battle will be Reached by Allie Condie vs Oppression by Jessica Therrien.

Reached (Matched, #3)vsOppression (Children of the Gods, #1)

I think they're both really pretty covers in different ways. They both have cool font though, and have circles. Which is your favourite cover? Vote now on the poll to the right, and let me know what you think in the comments!

Cover Wars: The Selection vs Illuminate

Welcome to Cover Wars! Cover Wars is a fun little feature of Tantalizing Illusions all about the appreciation of beautiful covers. Every week two covers will head off in a battle. Last week's winner, the Defender will go up against this week's hopeful, the Challenger. The winner is determined by your votes and your support!

Last week was another week where The Selection absolutely dominated the voting. This week, can it continue to do so against our new challenger, the very pretty Illuminate by Aimee Agresti?

The Selection (The Selection, #1)vsIlluminate

Both covers have the most gorgeous distinctive font and are pretty girly. Both are side shots but leaning in different ways. And of course, it's the classic red or blue! They're looking good!

Now comes the hard part. We've seen the pretty, now we need to see which is your favourite cover. Which cover appeals to you more? Remember to vote on the poll to the right on the side bar.

Cover Wars: The Selection vs Darkness Before Dawn

Hey everyone! Welcome to another brilliant edition of Cover Wars, hosted at Tantalizing Illusions! Cover Wars is a little feature all about appreciating covers. Every week there is a showdown between two covers- a "Defender" (last week's winner) and a "Challenger" (a new cover). Both covers will fight for the most votes and the winner will continue on to next week's battle. This is my way of appreciating the beauty of YA covers.

Last week The Selection dominated The Golden Lily. This week it's back to fight against a new, darker cover, Darkness Before Dawn by J.A. London.

The Selection (The Selection, #1)vsDarkness Before Dawn

What do you guys think? Both covers feature girls in pretty dresses that have layer. Both covers have the girls hiding their faces in some way. They both manage to have very different vibes and I'm really curious to see which cover will come out on top.

Now that you've seen the competitors, it's time to VOTE!! Vote for your favourite cover on the right and be sure to let me know your choice and your thoughts in the comments. Or if you have any suggestions for future Cover Wars, also let me know.

And if you like Cover Wars at Tantalizing Illusions, you'll love The Book Faery's Cover Wars!

Cover Wars: The Selection vs. The Golden Lily

Cover Wars is an awesome little feature done here at Tantalizing Illusions all about beautiful and amazing covers. Basically, this is a way to appreciate covers by voting for your favourite. There's always a a Defender which is last week's winner. They will defend their position against the Challenger.

Last uh, week, was the battle of Cover Wars Superstar Exiled against The Selection. It was quite the battle but The Selection won making it this week's Defender. Can The Selection defend it's spot against Richelle Mead's The Golden Lily? Stick around to find out as The Golden Lily challenges The Selection.

The Selection (The Selection, #1)vsThe Golden Lily (Bloodlines, #2)

I'm actually super excited for this battle because I can tell it's going to be close. Both covers feature girls hiding their faces in a way, the titles are in super cool font, and they both use their theme colours so well. Which cover works for you?

Now comes the hard part. Voting time! Vote for your favourite cover on the sidebar to the right to support it. Feel free to share why you picked whichever cover in the comments, or any cover related thoughts.
