Spotlight on... Rick Riordan

Recently, I've been reading books that I just love or reading about books I need to read. I might not write a review of them but I'd still like to mention them. Authors, series, books I've read or books I want to read may be spotlighted. There will always be a theme though. This will be a feature posted whenever I have the time.

Spotlight on Rick Riordan.

Rick Riordan

I've read the Percy Jackson series and The Lost Hero series which are both MG books, (as is the Maze of Bones). I haven't read the Tres Navarre series though since it's an adult level series. The Heroes of Olympus is a kind of spinoff from the Percy Jackson series and it's very good. It has all new characters and the such, but I'll explain more about it in my review (which is soon coming).

Rick Riordan always writes with humour. He's brilliant at writing easy to read, action packed stories that everyone, kids, teens and adults can enjoy. He uses various mythologies and incorporates them in his work easily and fluidly. The Percy Jackson series is and will forever remain a classic in my view and I'm super excited to read more about Percy's world in the Heroes of Olympus series.

If you haven't read anything by Rick Riordan, I strongly suggest you should.

  1. I love the Percy Jackson books and the Lost Heroes. Haven't read any of his other books, but really like his style.

  3. The Lost Hero is mainly shown through a little more attention to romantic possibilities. Jason is attracted to Piper, and Piper is coming to grips with the fact that the mind-altering Mist of the gods has given her fake memories of dating him. She's deeply hurt by the fact that her past relationship with Jason isn't real, but her feelings are still real, and she and Jason grow to appreciate each other as friends and quest companions, though the potential for something more is definitely going to be explored in future books
